On the evening of April 26th, the Horticultural Society of Preston, Elmstone, and Stourmouth was treated to an exceptional lecture on "The Orchids of Kent" by local expert Clive Nuttman.

Clive's expertise in the field was immediately apparent as he delved into the fascinating world of orchids, discussing the various species that can be found in Kent and their unique characteristics. He shared his knowledge on their habitats, their blooming seasons, and even the best ways to photograph them in their natural environment.

The audience was enraptured as Clive displayed his stunning photographs of the orchids in their natural surroundings. He also offered invaluable insights on how orchids rely on fungus grow. (See our next blog post for more on this fascinating relationship!))

As the lecture came to a close, the audience was left with a newfound appreciation for the beauty and complexity of orchids. Clive's passion for these plants was contagious, and many members left the event inspired to delve further into the world of orchid spotting around Kent!

We are incredibly grateful to Clive for sharing his knowledge and expertise with us, and for providing such an engaging and informative lecture. His passion and enthusiasm for these plants was truly infectious, and we look forward to having him speak to us again in the future.

Thank you, Clive, for an exceptional evening.
